LED Flood Lights

LED flood lights:

Broad beamed artificial lights with high-intensity used to illuminate outdoor areas is called LED floodlights. Outdoor areas like parking area, party plot, out door functions, construction site play ground (Cricket ground, Football ground, etc). LED flood lights can also be used at large companies, organization and industries during the night to illuminate compound area.

Basic mechanical structure:

Yoke

A yoke is used to support or suspend most floodlights. It is also used to rotate flood light at axis. Shape of yoke is generally U-shaped. Yoke is generally placed at two points to the sides of the light’s housing. The base is normally a single bolted where the yoke can be rotated. Base of yoke provides a second axis of rotation. When yoke and base of yoke are combined together degree of freedom of light is become dual axis, they allow the fixture to point any direction in spherical range.

Housing:

Housing of LED flood lights have lamp housing. Housing of LED flood lights is a metal or plastic container. Which prevents light from spilling in unwanted directions. Housing serves as a body for the entire instrument. Housing of flood light has been designed that will help to reduce heat and increase the efficiency.

Reflector:

Quality of light and output direction is affected by the reflector. It is located around the light source in a way as to direct more light towards the opening. LED floodlights use different types of reflectors; majorly two types of reflectors used by LED floodlights: ellipsoidal and parabolic. Ellipsoidal reflectors are mainly used for tight spots, focus-able and they can also be used in floodlights. A lamp set at the focus point of a parabola shaped reflector is called a parabolic reflector. The light can't be focused because there is no point at which the light converges. This reflector bounces the light away from the reflector in parallel beams.

LED flood lights requires power source ranging from AC 85V – 265V.

How to choose proper flood light for your application ?

Small scale flood light:

100 Watt LED flood lights – Typically, the smallest type of LED floodlight. A floodlight of this nature normally comes with approx 9600 lumens flux with different color temperatures. because of small scale floodlights, they are mostly used to light a small area like compound of a small estate or as security lights for a small business.

Medium scale flood light:

150W LED flood lights are considered to be the average type of floodlights. Since they have approx 14600 lumens flux. This LED flood lights are widely used in commercial sites as well as entertainment industry. Commercially, companies use them to light the exterior of their premises as well as the interior. In the entertainment industry, this light is mainly used in stages during live performances.

Large scale flood light:

300W LED flood lights - These floodlights are used in large areas as per requirement of illumination. This LED floodlights with such higher wattage normally have an output of 26,000 – 29,100 lumens flux. That much higher lumens is reason behind that they are never used indoors.
